I've been watching evolutions all my life (the alternative is not even worth considering!). None have been nearly as profound as the sea change in what we used to call "the corporate world". Even that moniker, said aloud, now seems obsolete. Why? Because it defines a silo, or structure that, in each mind's eye, has very distinct proportions - and borders.
You may think that I am about to say something digital here, about how the online universe is driving change, but that's not it..... The ability to talk across every channel, that has likey been infused with the same DNA that is the digital world, has evolved to earmark the way the "succeeders" put their footprint in the sand. Succeeders collaborate. They cross perceived borders. Naturally. Without belaboring. With the best case scenarios in their sights. And usually, once you can see it, you can find a thousand ways to get there.
